Update From the Doctor

Well, at least there's a reason why I'm still feeling poorly (that's the only nice word I could think of to describe how I'm feeling right now). The doctor's office just called and yesterday's blood test shows my white blood count at 0.9 when the normal is 4-11. This means no pedicure. :>( No fresh fruits or vegetables. No fresh cut flowers. Limited visitors. Lots of hand washing. Monitoring my temperature. And an antibiotic. Please, please don't let it create any more havoc on my stomach!

I do get a shot after each chemo treatment called Neulastin which stimulates my bone marrow to produce more white blood cells and it should be kicking in any time now, so hopefully this is short lived and I'll be feeling better in no time.

Till next time!
Tons of love!
Martha

Auntie M,

I'm glad to hear you are feeling a bit better so you can enjoy Christmas with your family. You're story about Joey and the food made me laugh out loud and I can just picture him jumping around the kitchen.

Merry Christmas to all of you!
Lots of love,
Sue, Katie and Jonny

Hi Martha! I guess the blood test does explain things, huh? When we next get together, you'll have to share with me the 'no veggies, fruit and fresh flowers' thing... I didn't know it had a relationship to wbc. I hope you were able to work your way through the mall yesterday...that would wear anyone out!! I am doing my annual Christmas Eve op of setting up the elements and serving communion tonight at my church's 11:00 pm service - it's the candlelight one and it's magical and beautiful. I will have my prayer mala in hand and pray for you, dear friend. Pamper yourself, take care of yourself and I will be in touch. Love you, buddy... please pass hugs to your family, too! Merry Christmas!
xoxo
